Mobile Learning

Mobile learning refers to the ability to use mobile computing devices to access learning materials from anywhere.

Due to the growing popularity and capacity of mobile devices (i.e. smartphone, tablets, netbooks, laptops), new interactions are possible between the instructor and the student. Mobile learning takes advantage of these developments by providing students with ubiquitous access to course materials, in effect moving learning outside of traditional spaces and times.

Instructors should do their best to ensure course materials are compatible with mobile devices and available software. Due to a lack of support for Flash-based video and interactive modules on mobile devices, the use of HTML5, native applications, and browser-based learning packages are highly recommended for creating mobile-friendly course materials
